6 Authority Building Videos You Can Use as a Real Estate Agent

Well, folks, it’s 2021, and it’s time to start including video as part of your marketing plan.  If you aren’t executing videos across multiple platforms, you may be missing a chance to build rapport with your audience, and cement yourself as the go to agent in your community.  

So, in order to get you started with some ideas for videos that you can use to build your authority as the go-to real estate agent in your area, here are 6 great authority building videos you can use to get the job done.  

Number 1: The Listing Video

Now, this is a no brainer, and is probably the most common in any agent’s marketing arsenal. We’re at a point where if you aren’t creating listing videos, well, you’re probably losing out to those that do. I can’t think of a better way to showcase to your audience that you have the trust of your clients and competence to successfully market properties, than a listing video.  These can be super easy to produce, using the tools available to you on your smartphone or in any of your social media apps. No external technology required!   

Number 2: Testimonial Videos

These are probably the hardest to get, but they will have a huge impact on your business. We live in an era where online reviews hold a big weight. If you can get your clients on video to talk about what it’s like to work with you, and their experiences, singing your praises, you will solidify the element of social proof in your marketing, doing wonders for your future business.  I gotta tell you — just my Google reviews alone do wonders for my business, so think of what a video testimonial could accomplish!  So the next time you hand out the keys to a home, just pull out your cell phone and get a quick testimonial.

Number 3: Local Business Reviews

So if you follow me and have viewed my content, you will have heard me talk about this before. Get out into your community and connect with other business owners. The best way to do this is to go to the business and feature them in a video that you’ll put on your social media. Not only will your audience think you’re really socially connected, and you’ll develop new relationships and network, but remember, people don’t just buy houses, they buy the area too. By creating videos about other local businesses, you can start to be known as what I like to call the “digital mayor” of your area – the person who knows everything about the area of interest a potential client might be looking at. 

Number 4: Neighborhood Showcases 

So, like I said before, people don’t just buy houses they buy the area and the neighbourhood, too. If you start to produce videos around a particular neighborhood and showcase the parks, the shopping, the style of houses that dominate the area, etc, you’ll be providing incredibly valuable information to potential buyers who will then come to you for advice and help with the search or sale of a home in that area.  Include valuable tidbits like the average house sizes, age, and prices of the area, and some fun history, or local amenities.  

Number 5: Informational Videos 

Time to showcase your skills people! Create some ‘how to’ videos geared around real estate, show off what you know about staging, improvements such as simple home upgrades, or the latest smart-home products. You can even take it a step further and have a plumber come in and guide your audience through what to look for when purchasing a home or an electrician to explain some of the common terminologies. 

Number 6: “About Me” Videos

Don’t get on camera and beat your chest about being a top producer. Instead, talk about what you like to do in your spare time. What hobbies do you have and events that you and your family like to support? Also, why you got into real estate in the first place and what you like most about your chosen career. These are great videos for connecting with the audience and having them get to know you. Remember: “know, like, trust”. 

So there you have it – six easy to execute videos that you should be creating to increase your authority with your audience. Remember, there’s no magic pill you can take when building your real estate business. However, if you continually create these videos consistently, over time, it will grow your audience. They will get to know you and like you and eventually trust you.
